6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join our school kitchen team as a Substitute Cook! This is an important role in helping provide healthy, welcoming meals for our students each day. You’ll work alongside our Lead Cook and kitchen team to prepare and serve breakfast and lunch, support our salad bar and snack program, and keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for the next day.
What We’re Looking For- A dependable, positive team member who enjoys working with others
- Someone who is organized, willing to learn, and able to work in a busy kitchen environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and cleanliness
- Someone who takes pride in preparing and serving meals to students
- Previous food service or kitchen experience is helpful, but not required
- Assisting with breakfast and lunch preparation and service
- Preparing and setting up the salad bar
- Washing and preparing fruits and vegetables
- Preparing classroom snacks for the following day
- Restocking milk, juice, napkins, silverware, trays, and other supplies
- Cleaning dishes, serving areas, equipment, and kitchen surfaces
- Following food safety, temperature-monitoring, handwashing, and sanitation procedures
- Working as part of a team to complete daily kitchen responsibilities
This is a hands-on, active position, and teamwork is at the heart of our kitchen. While there are many tasks to complete each day, our kitchen staff work together to make sure meals are prepared and served safely and that students have a positive experience.
