Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduce and lead company change efforts, provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
Responsibilities- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way OBW service model.
- Manage and support customer service initiatives, including community outreach programs.
- Resolve customer needs, complaints, and issues; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies.
- Drive financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing PL statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
- Ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates: hire, train, mentor, assign duties, recognize achievements, and promote a belonging mindset.
- Coordinate and oversee job-related activities, maintaining relationships with stakeholders and supporting plans to meet customer and business needs.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, support company mission values, and apply integrity standards.
- Build high‑performing teams, embrace differences, and create a workplace where associates feel supported and connected.
- Act with integrity, support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company by eliminating waste and participating in local giving.
- Serve customers and members by putting the customer first, applying the EDLP/EDLC business models, and making data‑based decisions.
- Strive for excellence by learning, taking calculated risks, and encouraging continuous improvement.
- 2 years of college; or 1 year retail experience and 1 year supervisory experience;
- Or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Associate will be required to attend and successfully complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
