The Regional Used Truck Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitability, inventory management, and customer experience for used truck sales across a designated region. This role ensures alignment with company standards, supports dealership sales teams, and manages wholesale and retail channels to maximize margin and market share.
Key Responsibilities- Sales & Margin Growth
- Drive used truck sales performance and margin across the region
- Promote value-added services including financing, warranties, and preventative maintenance options
- Manage wholesale sales to OEM and independent dealers for aged inventory packages
- Identify and execute local market purchase opportunities
- Retail Customer Experience
- Ensure sales teams deliver responsive, knowledgeable service
- Oversee pickup and post-sale experience for retail customers
- Sales Team Support
- Establish trade-in pricing and enforce trade terms and conditions
- Document and price exceptions to trade policies
- Ensure timely receipt and processing of trade units
- Inventory Management
- Maintain equipment condition standards
- Ensure all units are advertised online with photos, pricing, and specifications
- Assign units to retail or wholesale channels and manage pricing strategy
- Monitor aging inventory and enforce parameters (no units over 180 days; target 120 days)
- Coordinate staging of inventory with model year stickers and spec sheets
- Conduct regular lot checks for accuracy and location compliance
- Idealease Out-Service Units
- Identify and manage out-service units for retail, wholesale, and third-party channels
- Collaborate with local Idealease and shop teams for timely out-service and inspections
- Assist with payoff and title processes for Idealease sales
- International COOP Program
- Partner with International representatives and local sales teams to drive COOP program success
- Manage inventory flow, pricing, warranties, and financing options
- Develop sell sheets for COOP inventory and monitor reconditioning timelines
- Marketing & Lead Generation
- Collaborate with regional marketing teams on advertising initiatives
- Support retail programs, promotions, and customer referral strategies
- Proven experience in used truck sales management or similar role
- Strong understanding of inventory management and wholesale/retail sales channels
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze market trends and implement strategic initiatives
- Familiarity with financing, warranties, and maintenance programs preferred
