land-based sampling and occasional at sea sampling to collect molluscan bivalve shellfish and phytoplankton samples. Additional duties include GIS work, database management, and phytoplankton volunteer training and coordination. The Specialist will assist the Marine Resources Water Quality Program in ocean, stream, and pollution source sample collection and shoreline survey duties as needed. Field work is often accomplished without close supervision;

however, it is performed according to specific detailed procedures. The Specialist will instruct seasonal employees in work duties.
