Tunista Operations Support Services LLC is seeking a skilled armed security officer for an upcoming contract award. This position is pending contract award.
Primary FunctionThis armed position is under the direct supervision of the Manager and is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of client property, visitors, and personnel at assigned high‑profile sites. The officer will observe and report activities and incidents, respond to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force, enforce regulations, control access, and patrol the assigned site on foot or in vehicle.
EssentialDuties
- Control access to client sites through the admittance process and prevent unauthorized entry.
- Screen visitors and client employees efficiently.
- Respond to unusual or emergency situations with appropriate escalation of force, up to and including armed response.
- Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.
- Provide courteous, respectful, and pleasant interaction with client employees and visitors.
- Communicate openly and honestly in all situations, providing information as authorized.
- Monitor entrances, exits, parking, and remote entrances using CCTV.
- Operate gate, remote access devices, and vehicle security checks.
- Direct persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property calmly.
- Patrol assigned site on foot or in vehicle, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
- Inspect buildings and grounds with appropriate equipment and protective gear.
- Protect evidence or the scene of an incident, set up barriers, signage, and provide directions or information to others.
- Prepare logs or reports, write or type reports in a computer, and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
- Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives, company management, life/safety personnel, or public safety authorities as required.
- Respond to incidents such as fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other emergencies following established procedures.
- Carry out other duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements for armed security work and protective device and weapons qualifications.
- Ability to meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
- Excellent observation, hearing, speaking, and writing skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Strong teamwork capability.
- Professional composure in unusual circumstances.
- Adaptability to changing external conditions and organizational needs.
- Good organizational and customer‑service skills.
- Polite telephone manner and effective interpersonal skills across diverse cultures.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
- Computer proficiency with common software.
- U.S. citizenship preferred; age 21 or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Minimum of 2 years of Armed Security / Law Enforcement experience OR 2 years honorable service with the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Successful background, reference checks, substance testing, physical examination, and behavioral survey as required by the company.
Requires physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions, including managing stress, working in all weather conditions, operating vehicles, handling emergency situations, lifting up to 40 pounds, and standing or walking up to 12 hours per day.
