Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergencies and life/safety situations as directed by management and Central Security (e.g. active shooter, fire, burglary, suspicious substances, bomb threats, threats of violence, property damage).
  • Assume responsibility and control of on‑site emergency situations until relieved by management or other proper authority.
  • Ensure the safety of all company employees by processing personnel through metal detectors, conducting bag checks, monitoring security cameras, observing employee behavior, allowing only authorized access, enforcing PPE and other safety protocols, reporting incidents to leadership, and conducting initial investigations and preparing necessary reports.
  • Perform facilities tours, being alert for fire, unauthorized entry, safety risks/hazards, suspicious activity and various types of utility failures.
  • Support retail as needed with disruptive customers or backup support for apprehensions.
  • Operate and maintain air‑sampling equipment and conduct air sampling as requested.
  • Conduct access control to key manufacturing buildings through the operation of metal detectors, turnstiles, and exception gates while verifying employment and appropriate access.
  • Ensure no unauthorized products are removed from property without proper approval and perform property inspections as necessary.
  • Respond to all issues on company property and alarms.
  • Escort employees, including those with protection orders, to their vehicles as requested.
  • Provide security presence when requested during emergency and threatening situations, as well as non‑emergency events such as concerts or performances at the Flagship campus.

  • Contribute to reducing shrinkage by performing bag checks, conducting building patrols, and maintaining an active presence in all areas of the company.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the operational areas and configuration of LL Bean properties (e.g. telecom rooms, network switches, elevator rooms, risers, fire pump rooms).
  • Create incident reports using the reporting software ThinkLP.
  • Prepare daily station logs, maintain files and ensure that copies of all reports are forwarded to appropriate management personnel.
  • Report all activity to Central Station.
  • Perform parking lot checks and monitor cameras.
  • Provide Security Station coverage for breaks and absences.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and operate company vehicles as needed.
