Maine Health Stephens Hospital is seeking motivated and service-oriented individuals to join our Security Services team as Per Diem Security Officers
. This is an as-needed position with no guaranteed hours or set shift schedule
. Candidates must have open availability and be willing to work varied shifts based on departmental needs.
As a Security Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the community. We are looking for individuals who are committed to helping others, can remain calm under pressure, and consistently demonstrate a friendly and approachable attitude.
Summary:
This position is per diem with variable hours.
The Security Officer role is responsible for monitoring the healthcare environment to help prevent security incidents from occurring and deescalating incidents as they emerge. May provide protective services and, with sufficient training, patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)High school diploma or GED preferred. If appropriate for location, must obtain IAHSS certification within one year of hire required.
Certifications:
Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Valid Driver's license if required at local Health System. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar to be completed within local Health System requirements. Completion of HIC 100, 200, and 700 if required by facility.
Relevant experience in hospital safety and security preferred.

The pay range for this position is $20.27to $24.36 per hour.
Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
