Job Description

Permanent opening for an Electrical Technician to work for a local industrial plant. This position offers competitive wages and a full selection of benefits available after temp-to-hire period: 401k with employer match, paid time off, and medical, dental, and vision insurance. Full-time/Rotating; 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Days) and 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Nights). $24.86 - $35.80/hr.

The Electrical Technician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components within the facility. Applicants must have an associate degree in electrical engineering, as well as 2-5 years of experience working in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality testing and inspections to ensure that all electrical systems on-site are in good working order.
  • Examine work orders and communicate with equipment operators to detect equipment problems.
  • Repair equipment by replacing defective components or worn parts.
  • Install and troubleshoot new electrical equipment.
  • Send defective units to the manufacturer or to a specialized repair shop for repair.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
  • Follow all local, state, and federal regulations for job site safety.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines as directed by company policy.
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested by job site supervisor.
Job Requirements
  • Must be licensed to work as an electrician in the State of Maine.
  • At least 2-3 years' experience working in a factory and/or mill setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with electrical controls, power distribution, programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives.
  • Good communication skills; must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
