Agassiz Village is a nonprofit youth development organization with a 90‑year legacy of preparing young people for life’s journey. Our 330‑acre campus in Poland, Maine includes 40 buildings, extensive program spaces, and a beautiful natural environment that supports thousands of youth each year.
We are seeking a skilled, hands‑on Facilities Technician to join our year‑round team and support the Facilities Director in maintaining, repairing, and improving our campus infrastructure. This role is central to our ongoing $8 million capital campaign, which includes major renovations to camper cabins, staff housing, and program buildings. Key Responsibilities Renovation & Construction- Assist with renovation projects including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general construction
- Execute small‑scale construction projects independently
- Maintain tools, materials, and work spaces in safe, organized condition
- Support project timelines and communicate progress to the Facilities Director
- Inspect and maintain camp infrastructure including HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, septic, and electrical systems
- Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, road maintenance, and winterization
- Assist with upkeep of vehicles and equipment (golf carts, boats, machinery)
- 2+ years of experience in renovation, construction, or facilities maintenance
- Proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repair
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all seasons
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
- Full‑time, year‑round position based in Poland, ME
- Option for a 4‑day workweek (compressed schedule)

- Salary: $48,000–$50,000 based on experience
