Position Summary

The Journeyman Electrician at One Stop Home Repair performs skilled electrical work in residential service, repair, and remodeling environments. This position supports both standalone service calls and larger multi‑trade projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Maine state electrical code.

This role requires strong technical ability, professionalism with customers, and a team‑oriented mindset. As part of our ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), the Journeyman Electrician is expected to think and act like an owner — protecting quality, safety, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities
1. Residential Service & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair residential electrical issues
  • Install and replace panels, breakers, outlets, switches, fixtures, and wiring
  • Perform service upgrades and minor system modifications
  • Troubleshoot circuits and resolve electrical failures efficiently
  • Ensure all work meets NEC and Maine state requirements
2. Remodeling & Project Work
  • Complete electrical rough‑ins and finish work for kitchens, baths, additions, and whole‑home remodels
  • Work closely with carpenters, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and project managers
  • Follow project plans and layouts accurately
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
3. Safety & Code Compliance
  • Follow company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Maintain awareness of Maine electrical code requirements
  • Assist Master Electrician with inspections and permit‑related tasks as directed
  • Identify and communicate potential safety concerns immediately
4. Documentation & Accountability
  • Complete clear and accurate job notes in company software (Thermogrid or applicable system)
  • Track materials used and communicate shortages proactively
  • Meet billable hour expectations
  • Maintain company tools and vehicle (if assigned) in clean, professional condition
5. Customer Experience
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners
  • Explain issues and solutions in understandable terms
  • Maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor

Qualifications
  • Active Maine Journeyman Electrician License (required)
  • Strong understanding of residential electrical systems
  • Experience in service work and remodeling preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
