Maintenance Technician

Now hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician for a well-established company in Mars Hill. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual with strong mechanical and maintenance skills. Previous experience working with production line equipment is highly valued. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on production line equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role involves diagnosing equipment issues, repairing mechanical systems, replacing defective parts, and completing routine inspections and maintenance reports. Employee will also assist with equipment installations, sanitation-related maintenance, and compliance with safety and food quality standards.

Ideal candidate will have prior factory maintenance experience, working knowledge of welding and fabrication tools, and a strong commitment to workplace safety, reliability, and sanitation.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on production equipment and mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, calibration, and parts replacement.
• Troubleshoot PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Repair damaged machinery, plumbing, and electrical components, including welding, soldering, cutting, and pipe threading.
• Assist with the installation, setup, testing, and calibration of new equipment.
• Clean and lubricate machinery to maintain optimal performance.
• Maintain a sanitary work environment in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
• Respond to emergency repair requests during off-hours, as needed.
• Follow all workplace safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE use, and hazard reporting.
• Participate in required Haz Mat, Confined Space, and LOTO training programs.
• Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate equipment issues to supervisors.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent education required; advanced technical training preferred.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in maintenance or machinery repair.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Background check required.
