Social Worker
- Long Term Substitute

Freeport High School is seeking a long-term substitute school social worker to support students' social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. This is a full-time position within RSU
5. This position will run from approximately the beginning of October until the end of January.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Serve as a member of the student support team, collaborating with administrators, counselors, teachers, and families.
  • Respond to crisis situations and conduct risk assessments as needed.
  • Develop and monitor student support plans.
  • Connect students and families with community resources and outside agencies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements.
  • Participate in student support team meetings, IEP meetings, and relevant staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or a Masters in Counseling required.
  • Active LCPC or LCSW license.
  • Experience working with adolescents in a school or clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff in a fast-paced high school environment.

Pay for this position is designated at $150.00 per day, after 10 consecutive days in the same assignment the rate for this position is designated at $297.70.

Requirements:

  • Must hold valid CHRC Certification from the ME Dept. of Education.
  • Must hold a valid LCPC or LCSW license.

Position remains open until suitable candidate is found.
