Senior COBOL Developer

We are seeking a Senior COBOL Developer with strong mainframe experience and exposure to cloud technologies to support mainframe modernization and decommissioning initiatives. The role will focus on analyzing, migrating, modernizing, or retiring legacy COBOL applications while ensuring business continuity and application performance.

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL development and mainframe applications.
• Experience supporting mainframe modernization, migration, or decommissioning projects.
• Ability to analyze legacy applications and identify opportunities to migrate, modernize, or retire functionality.
• Experience with cloud technologies and cloud migration initiatives.
• Strong understanding of application dependencies, interfaces, data flows, and legacy system architecture.
• Experience with application testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Analyze existing COBOL/mainframe applications to determine migration, modernization, or retirement strategies.
• Support initiatives to move applications to cloud platforms, improve existing solutions, or decommission legacy functionality.
• Identify application dependencies, interfaces, data requirements, and potential migration risks.
• Develop, modify, and maintain COBOL applications as required during modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to execute migration and decommissioning plans.
• Support data and application migration activities while ensuring system integrity and business continuity.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support.
• Create technical documentation for application architecture, dependencies, migration plans, and decommissioning activities.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, or eliminate legacy processes and applications.
