Bridgton Academy’s basketball program, in alignment with the Academy’s mission, is dedicated to developing mature, independent student-athletes prepared for college and beyond. Competing at the highly competitive NEPSAC “AAA” level, the program demands exceptional effort, professionalism, and leadership from its Head Coach.
This role extends beyond the court, with the Head Coach serving as an engaged member of the campus community. Depending on experience and strengths, additional responsibilities will include a role as an Admissions counselor, teacher, or College Counselor.
The Head Basketball Coach is responsible for leading a comprehensive, year-round basketball program. This position oversees all aspects of team development, including managing assistant coaches and staff, scheduling games, ensuring compliance with NEPSAC policies, and recruiting qualified student-athletes.
The Head Coach provides strong leadership both on and off the court, guiding student-athletes in their athletic, academic, and personal development. In partnership with the College Counseling Office, the coach supports the placement of student-athletes in colleges and universities that are academically, residentially, and athletically appropriate, with a focus on the right fit.
As a visible leader within the Academy community, the Head Basketball Coach actively participates in campus life, assisting with major Academy events such as Registration, Orientation, Homecoming, Reunions, and Commencement. The position works with the Director of Athletics on oversight of all program management, operations, and budgetary concerns. The role also collaborates with the Director of Admissions to annually recruit and build a team of basketball student-athletes, each of whom reflects the Academy’s commitment to attracting high character, mission appropriate young men.
Applications will be accepted immediately, and the position carries an immediate start date.
The position is full-time and features a comprehensive benefits package, with on campus housing available. Bridgton Academy offers a robust, competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, a very generous paid time off policy, and a retirement plan with company match. A competitive salary is offered, commensurate with experience.
