Saint Joseph's College of Maine is hiring for the position of Athletics Game Management Coordinator. This position supports the division of Athletics by performing general game management, communicating with game day participants and personnel, and performing basic crowd control/management. The role is for home contests only; no travel is required.

Position Responsibilities

Performs General Game Management By

  • Performing Game Setup & Break Down & General Cleanup
  • Assisting with Student staffing oversight
  • Conducting Bat Testing for Baseball & Softball

Communicates with game day participants and personnel by

  • Initiating communication with Visiting Teams & Officials
  • Meeting and Greeting all Visiting Teams (approx. 2 hours prior to game start)
  • Meeting and Greeting all Officials
  • Escorting Officials to Field/Venue
  • Facilitating after contest follow-up
  • Escorting teams to locker rooms
  • Escorting Officials to locker rooms / parking lot
  • Working with ADs, Trainer, Coaches regarding inclement weather game changes procedures
  • Informing ADs, Trainers, Coaches, Sports Information regarding any changes in start times, delays, cancellations, etc.
  • Communicating with ADs other duties of an unforeseen nature that may arise on game day
Performs Basic Crowd Control/Management By
  • Being visible and walking the venue
  • Intervening if language or behavior becomes inappropriate
  • Seeking assistance from sport administrator or operations staff if unsure how to address a situation
  • Seeking the assistance of SJC Security if needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Related experience preferred

  • Must demonstrate teamwork skills and a willingness to help others
  • Possesses a positive attitude to foster a cohesive working environment
  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Athletic Department procedures and sport activities, including knowledge of sports and sport rules
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong people, interpersonal and relationship skills within all levels of the workforce
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Tolerates work-related stress effectively, maintaining professionalism and adherence to core values in all interactions
Training to be completed upon hire
