Heavy Truck Driving Instructor - Only Need CDL License & Experience

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM
Responsible for conducting and managing vocational training in regular classroom and truck driving setting.
Responsibilities- Teaches State of Maine C.D.L. curriculum for Class A and Class B licensure including Maine Driving Dynamics and applicable endorsements as required by DOL/State of Maine Training Achievement Record.
- Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
- Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders and student training achievement records.
- Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.
- Responsible for ensuring that the equipment and supplies are cared for.
- Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
- Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours, requisitions and monthly student evaluations.
Must have held a driver’s license for at least 6 years. Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License and have at least two years of driving experience in the last 10 years as a licensed driver. Must have or immediately attain Class B Driver’s Education Instructor’s license for behind the wheel driving or Class A Driver’s Education Instructor’s license for both classroom and behind the wheel driving.
Maine State certified CDL Instructor, Class A and B:
License includes Maine Driving Dynamics, trucking endorsements. No teaching experience required; however, if candidate is not state certified he/she must have practical experience in the subject/trade area. Must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge. Must be able to drive company vehicles and qualify for company-sponsored vehicle insurance.
Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching experience.
Knowledge RequiredKnowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
