• Ability to read and write, understand verbal instructions, and communicate effectively with employees, students, and the Director of Transportation
• Attend driver training days and mandatory in‑service meetings

Director of Transportation

Assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for students by maintaining order on a school bus or van and directly supporting individual children as needed.

• Assist the driver in maintaining appropriate student conduct on the bus or van
• Assist young or disabled students with getting on and off the bus or van; operate chair lift; assist students in crossing streets; help with seat belts and harnesses where appropriate
• Ensure that students get on and off the bus or van in an orderly fashion
• Support the driver with disciplinary problems
• Perform other tasks and assume additional responsibilities that may be assigned

Hourly, year‑round work; working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the School Board’s policy on evaluation.
