Job Summary
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments, depending on the line of business and the type of truck used. They transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial drivers provide pickup services for containers filled with waste or recyclable material, often weighing in excess of 1,000 pounds, and must maneuver wheeled containers to pickup stages.
Residential drivers collect household waste or recyclable material and must navigate congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots. Roll‑off drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers from customer locations, often operating in tight environments on industrial routes. All drivers perform essential, high‑skill backing maneuvers to safely complete routes.
- Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and all applicable laws.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and document checks using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.
- Immediately report unsafe situations or service‑related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
- Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notify Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Report service interruptions, including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Completely dump all receptacles, leaving the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
- Follow route assignments and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
- Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
- Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or one year equivalent military driving within the last seven years.
- At least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, and complete records.
- Successfully complete pre‑employment screening, including drug screen and physical.
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air‑brake endorsement OR CDL Class B with an air‑brake endorsement.

Shift: Monday-Friday 6 a.m. to finish (10–12 hour days).
Starting pay: $24.00 per hour.
Yearly Boot Allowance: $300.
