4 Corner Resources is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support a boutique law firm specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare-related litigation. This role combines accounting, reporting, and financial analysis while working closely with leadership to support day-to-day operations and business decision-making.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting and is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a high volume of transactions. This person should be able to keep track of outstanding items, meet deadlines, take ownership of routine accounting responsibilities, and work with minimal supervision while learning new systems and processes. Legal industry experience is not required, and this role offers the opportunity to develop specialized accounting knowledge and take on additional responsibilities over time.
StaffAccountant Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close, including closed case write-offs
- Receive, verify, and enter vendor invoices into accounting and case management systems
- Prepare weekly check runs and process credit card transactions
- Support payroll and PTO tracking through ADP Workforce Now
- Perform account reconciliations and track outstanding accounting items through resolution
- Support settlement disbursements, trust-related accounting, and other case-related financial processes
- Prepare closing statements for case settlements
- Prepare cost reports for mediations and lien negotiations
- Maintain financial documentation and client files related to case settlements
- Process annual 1099s and assist with tax package preparation
- Analyze financial information in Quick Books Online and pull reports from Filevine
- Review financial and case-related data to identify discrepancies, trends, and useful insights
- Support reporting and provide information used for operational decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and bookkeeping processes
- Experience with reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, or general accounting functions
- Experience with Quick Books Online preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and maintain accurate records
- Comfortable learning new accounting, workflow, and case management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small accounting team
- Experience with legal or trust accounting
- Familiarity with Filevine, Clio, or another case management/workflow system
- Experience pulling reports from financial, ERP, case management, or similar systems and analyzing the underlying data
- Experience with settlement or closing statements, title/real estate closings, cost accounting, or other reconciliation-heavy accounting work
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Interest in AI, automation, reporting, or process improvement
- Location: Maitland, FL
- Schedule: Fully onsite Monday–Friday, with potential for 1 remote day per week after 90 days
- Compensation: $75,000 annually plus bonus eligibility twice per year
