Description:

Seeking an Education Support Professional to work in a substantially separate classroom for students with special needs. The Education Support Professional will work under the daily direction of a licensed Special Education Teacher experienced in Intellectual disabilities, Autism, and other severe neurological disabilities. Seeking a candidate experienced in working with students to support services to students in a classroom setting, small group setting or 1-1 setting.

Candidate must be adept at supporting students in the acquisition of modified academic curriculum, social skills and adaptive daily living skills goals set by the special education team.

Seeking a candidate with knowledge of whole communication methods, reinforcement schedules, curriculum modifications, and behavior management techniques. Candidate must be adept at working in a collaborative model with teachers and specialists in order to provide a transdisciplinary instructional approach. Toileting/diapering and heavy lifting may be required.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess at least one of the following:

* An associate's degree.

* 48 college credits.

* Must have taken and passed the Para Pro Assessment.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills and an ability and willingness to work cooperatively with administration, staff, and parents. Candidates must be willing to participate in curriculum training. Experience working with preschool and/or kindergarten children with and without disabilities strongly preferred.
