Occupational Therapist

High School

Qualifications (Required):

• Valid Occupational Therapy License.
• Successful experience as an occupational therapist.
• Experience with students who have diverse sensory needs.
• Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
• Related Service Providers must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.

Qualifications (Preferred):

• Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
• ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
• Occupational Therapy License

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in two staff development meetings.
• Collaborate with the Program Managers and Program Coordinator to provide direct OT (including sensory consult and/or fine motor) services to students on IEP’s.
• Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records.
• Keep folders/portfolios with student work.
• Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator.
• Write end of summer progress reports for each student serviced.

Duration:

• Program Administration and Implementation 103 hours total to include the following:
• Professional In-service Days (Date TBD 3 hours).
• 20 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 6 – August 6 (7:30 a.m.
  
  - 12:30 p.m.).

Stipend: $40 an hour, $4,120 total (20 days/5 hrs + 1 inservice at 3 hours)
