K–Arts Teacher

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS), located in Malden, Massachusetts, is seeking an Art Teacher for K–8 grades. This full‑time annual appointment will begin on Aug 1 2026.

The Art Teacher will lead the K–8 visual arts program, delivering high‑quality instruction aligned with the Core Knowledge curriculum, fostering creativity and artistic skill development, and modeling exemplary practices.

• Implement the documented art curriculum with fidelity and effectiveness.
• Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with clear learning objectives and curriculum standards.
• Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student achievement and artistic growth.
• Demonstrate artistic techniques and develop exemplar projects to support student learning.
• Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records, including progress reports and report cards.
• Collaborate regularly with colleagues in the Specials Department and assigned Assistant Director.
• Implement the school's classroom management and discipline systems consistently and effectively.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.

• Bachelor's degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of visual arts content, techniques, and instructional practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound professional judgments.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Ability to plan and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs and abilities of students.
• Commitment to working collaboratively within a team‑oriented educational environment.
• Understanding of applicable educational laws, regulations, and school policies.
• Successful completion of all applicable MTEL examinations within one year of employment.

This is a full‑time position with an annual appointment, evaluated yearly.
