Qualifications (Required)
  • Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the respective content area of Special Education.
  • Successful teaching experience.
  • Experience modifying and differentiating curriculum students within sub‑separate and inclusion classes.
  • Ability to relate / communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
  • Commitment to be present for each day of the program.
Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
  • SEI Endorsement.
  • License in Moderate Special Education.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement ESY tutoring for students on IEP’s.
  • Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records.
  • Keep folders/portfolios with student work.
  • Perform other related activities as required by the Program Coordinator.
  • Develop Progress Reports at the end of the ESY Program.
Duration

Program Administration and Implementation: 103 hours total, including:

  • Professional In‑service Days (date TBD, 3 hours).
  • 20 days, Monday‑Thursday, from July 6 – August 6 (7:30 a.m.

    - 12:30 p.m.).
Compensation

Stipend: $40 per hour, $4,120 total (20 days × 5 hrs + 1 in‑service day at 3 hrs)

Funding Source: Special Education
