Job DescriptionThe Linden S.T.E.A.M Community:
The Linden S.T.E.A.M Academy is a K-8 School within the Malden Public School District that creates a personalized learning experience using small group, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning (PBL) to inspire all students towards becoming college and career ready. Our students experience STEM classes in our new Makerspace and Robotics lab.
We believe all children can meet challenging expectations through a partnership among home, school, and community to become collaborators, critical thinkers, communicators, creators, and global citizens. All of our students participate in a yearly Exhibition Night, where their work is on display for the Malden and Linden communities, as students conduct Presentations of Learning to demonstrate their understanding and growth. Our school uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model to support the students’ social and emotional growth throughout our school community.
We focus on being safe, respectful, and responsible across the school community and environment.

Role
Description:
Trained in understanding and utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Experience in administering discrete trials, providing a hierarchy of prompting, taking advantage of incidental teaching opportunities, dispensing reinforcement of target behaviors, and keeping performance data. Must be adept at working in a collaborative model with teachers and specialists in order to provide a transdisciplinary instructional approach.
Knowledge of augmentative/alternative communication methods, sensory diets, reinforcement schedules, and behavior management techniques. Toileting/diapering and heavy lifting may be required.
