Position Overview

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking dedicated and motivated Grades 1–6 Paraprofessionals to join our team.

No prior classroom experience is required. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in beginning a career in education. MVRCS provides training and ongoing professional development to help new paraprofessionals build the skills needed to succeed in the classroom.

Paraprofessionals work closely with classroom teachers and school leadership to support instruction, reinforce academic and behavioral expectations, and maintain a structured and productive learning environment. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with students and make a meaningful contribution to their academic growth and success.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support daily instruction and classroom activities.
• Assist with classroom management and reinforce school-wide behavioral expectations.
• Provide individualized and small-group academic support.
• Lead small-group instruction in areas such as reading, mathematics, writing, and spelling.
• Support students during independent and group work.
• Reinforce student attentiveness, participation, organization, and engagement.
• Monitor student progress and provide targeted academic assistance as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assist with grading and help students review, revise, and improve their work.
• Support student supervision during arrival, lunch/recess, dismissal, and other assigned duties.
• Attend required school events, including Back-to-School Night and open houses.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• Support and adhere to all MVRCS policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

• High school diploma required.
• No prior classroom or teaching experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with elementary and middle school students.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and implement MVRCS instructional practices, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other members of the school community.
