Principal Investigator

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a qualified Principal Investigator to support their Clinical Trials business. This role entails ensuring the conduct of clinical research trials in compliance with federal and industry guidance and regulations. The Principal Investigator will report to the Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary leader and authority of the clinical trial at the research site.
• Ensure the ethical and legal well-being of study participants and the validity and accuracy of the research data.
• Report adverse events in a timely manner and review sponsor-provided safety reports.
• Provide documented training to Sub-Investigators and study team members on study protocol and safety reports.
• Sign off on electronic case books as required per study guidelines.
• Review informed consent forms and maintain protocol compliance on clinical trials/studies.
• Oversee IRB review and approval of study protocols.
• Assess subject response to therapy and address adverse experiences.
• Maintain open communication with research team, sponsor, and CRO.
• Meet regularly with research team to discuss ongoing protocols and patient issues.
• Provide clinical oversight and quality assurance of the studies virtually.
• Train on and implement Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications

• MD/DO license in good standing.
• Board certification and knowledge of clinical trials with experience in applicable clinical research regulatory requirements (e.g., GCP and ICH guidelines).
• Willingness to obtain a multi-state license if needed.

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a Principal Investigator in clinical research trials.
• Experience with EDC systems and technology-enabled solutions (EMR/Health Record Experience, Hybrid trials).

Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency with clinical trial protocols and industry regulations.

Additional Requirements

• Travel to clinical trial sites up to 100%, dependent on study requirements.
• Open and flexible on hours.
