Responsibilities- Maintains and optimizes current system applications, including Epic, ensuring system application updates work properly before updates are loaded into the live system by coordinating testing and update dates with users and vendor.
- Integrates new applications into the existing health information system according to the implementation schedule.
- Acts as liaison between users and software vendors; guides modification of system applications when current applications impede performance or changes would enhance performance.
- Facilitates end users' ability to understand and maximize use of the software to perform daily operations; works with IT Education staff to develop specialized training and educates users in system optimization.
- Responds to user questions with timely answers and/or referral to appropriate department/person.
- Coordinates with Business Analysts to provide expertise in development of reporting tools.
- Manages IT projects in collaboration with Operational and Clinical subject matter experts.
- Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of software used in Dental, Occupational Health, and Ophthalmic environments, as well as configuration and optimization of Epic Wisdom workflows.
- Ensures technical proficiency in software interoperability/integration and provides critical support for specialized hardware, ensuring seamless data flow and system reliability across clinical areas.
- Bachelor’s degree in health care related field, Information Systems or Business Management. Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 5-7 years experience as an Application Analyst or similar experience in a healthcare‑related IT position (or equivalent clinical role).
- Appropriate Epic experience required and certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team‑based setting to improve care systems.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of EHRs and databases.
- Critical eye for risk analysis, monitoring and quality assurance.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstration of ongoing growth in skillsets and responsibilities.
- Significant experience working in a complex healthcare organization and deploying systems to meet user needs.
- Demonstrated experience working with cross‑functional groups and varied needs.
- Deep technical expertise supporting a diverse portfolio of ancillary clinical systems, with priority given to Dental, Occupational Health, and Ophthalmic environments.
