Substitute School Nurse - Summer Position (2026)

General Description:

The summer school nurse oversees the health and wellness of students enrolled as well as the staff members in each program offered by Malden Public Schools. This is a seasonal position while the programs run, dates and hours vary depending on the program.

Responsibilities:

* Provide routine daily care and administration of OTC and prescribed medications.

* Provide emergency care to student and staff when needed

* Maintaining daily medical log records and reporting any student incidents to the program coordinators

* Performing other job-related duties

Requirements:

* Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

* Familiar with life threatening allergy protocols

* Committed to working in and fostering an inclusive community

* Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies

* Work collaboratively and independently

* Maintain an enthusiastic and positive presence to all students, staff and families

* Excellent organizational, problem solving and risk management skills

Salary: $40 per hour
