Mainstay Supportive Housing and Home Care, Inc. is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping vulnerable individuals—low-income elders, people living with disabilities and mental health complexities, and those transitioning out of chronic homelessness—live with dignity, independence, and stability in their communities. Since our founding in 1975, we’ve been deeply rooted in providing housing services to the most vulnerable and have expanded into providing permanent supportive housing and person-centered home care in communities across Massachusetts.
We are seeking a dedicated, dependable, and enthusiastic Residential House Manager to take an active leadership role in one of our supportive group homes for adults living with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).
This is a hands-on position that combines direct resident support, household management, and day-to-day leadership. Working Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, you will become a consistent presence in the home—building relationships with residents, supporting their independence, maintaining a welcoming household, and helping create a safe and respectful community.
The House Manager will help set the tone for the home. This means being comfortable establishing appropriate boundaries with residents, providing structure and consistency, and taking an active role in addressing disagreements or resident dynamics before they escalated. You will work with Resident Specialists and the Program Manager, but we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day leadership of the house.
Your direct-care responsibilities include one-hour individualized visits with residents focused on daily living skills, life-skills coaching, and gentle medication reminders. You will also oversee daily household operations, prepare dinner using flavorful recipes provided by our nutritionist, and encourage residents to participate in maintaining their shared home.
