Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to lead field operations on a marquee car dealership project in Malibu. This is a hands on leadership role requiring someone who can manage complex site logistics, coordinate a diverse subcontractor base, and deliver a polished commercial product in a high profile coastal market. Candidates with prior project experience within Malibu city limits are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all day to day field operations from ground breaking through final close out
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain schedule and quality
- Conduct and lead daily and weekly site meetings with project teams and ownership
- Enforce all safety protocols, building codes, and compliance requirements on site
- Review and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications
- Coordinate with project management, architects, and engineers throughout all project phases
- Monitor and document project progress, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Ensure quality control standards are met at every phase of construction
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inspectors, city officials, and ownership representatives
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commercial Superintendent
- Demonstrated experience on car dealership, automotive retail, or high end commercial projects strongly preferred
- Prior experience working within the City of Malibu is a significant advantage
- Deep understanding of commercial construction sequencing, systems, and finishes
- Strong ability to read and interpret full construction document sets
- Proven track record managing subcontractors and holding teams accountable to schedule
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid California driver's license required
- Base salary $130,000 to $160,000 depending on experience
