Summary
A residential design-build firm is seeking an experienced
Construction Superintendent to lead the field execution of high-end, ground-up custom homes throughout the Los Angeles area.
The Superintendent will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, inspections, safety, and quality. Projects feature sophisticated architectural details and high-end finishes, requiring someone who understands the level of planning, sequencing, and attention to detail involved in luxury residential construction.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Superintendent with a strong custom-home background who enjoys being in the field, running challenging projects, and working alongside experienced project management and design teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day field operations across assigned ground-up residential projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, deliveries, inspections, and site logistics
- Drive subcontractor performance and keep construction on schedule
- Verify construction against current plans, specifications, and approved changes
- Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP scopes in the field
- Coordinate city inspections and maintain inspection readiness throughout construction
- Lead pre-construction activities, mock-ups, pre-pour and pre-cover reviews, and punch
- Manage high-end finishes and ensure quality expectations are consistently met
- Maintain accurate daily reports, RFIs, observations, redlines, and as-built information in Procore
- Track field progress and communicate schedule, quality, and cost risks to project leadership
- Drive projects through final punch, closeout, and successful turnover
- 8+ years of Superintendent, General Contractor, or comparable field leadership experience
- Strong experience with ground-up custom residential construction
- Experience managing projects from sitework/foundation through finishes and turnover
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor sequencing and construction scheduling
- Experience coordinating inspections and working with local building departments
- Strong plan and specification reading across architectural, structural, and MEP scopes
- Strong understanding of luxury finishes, quality control, and punch-list management
- Experience with BIM-enabled or model-based construction workflows preferred
- California GC license preferred
