At Alpha, academic work takes students just two hours each day, powered by adaptive learning technology. That leaves Guides free to focus on what truly transforms lives: nurturing confidence, grit, communication skills, and the drive to take on difficult challenges. You won't be standing at the front of a room delivering lessons. Instead, you'll be coaching students through obstacles, recognizing their progress, and demonstrating what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic encouragement.

You’ll guide a single K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time goes to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback. The rest is dedicated to coaching students individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure each child advances toward ambitious weekly targets. Every moment counts. Students should exit your workshops more skilled than when they entered and finish your coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they imagined.

This position isn’t suited for someone seeking to deliver curriculum or run a traditional classroom. It’s designed for someone who enjoys motivating young learners, values measurable progress, and understands that the right coach can alter a child’s entire path. This is a full-time, on-site position at one of Alpha’s campuses. We recruit nationally, so job boards may list this opportunity in nearby cities without a campus.

• Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that guide K-3 students in mastering communication, concentration, feedback, and other foundational skills through hand-on engagement rather than passive listening.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child stays aligned with ambitious weekly learning targets.
• Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2
  
  Pass framework, coaching students until they show genuine mastery—not simply attendance.
• Tailor your coaching approach to fit the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narrative for younger children or increased autonomy and responsibility for older students.
• Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push beyond their perceived limits.

• Delivering academic lessons from the front of the room. Students complete academics using adaptive software.
• Creating curriculum from the ground up. You’ll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
• Observing students as they work quietly on computers. Your job is active coaching, encouragement, and meaningful interaction.
• Reducing expectations when students encounter difficulty. Growth comes from supporting students to meet the standard, not adjusting the standard downward.
• Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.
