The successful candidate will collaborate with other systems administrators located in Malibu and at various locations throughout the United States. A willingness to continue learning new technologies is a must. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance and experience in classified programs is required.
Essential Duties:
Work with multi-disciplined team members under general supervision
Provide a friendly and professional point of contact for customers
Perform independent troubleshooting of complex incidents
Perform a multi-disciplined range of technical system and application activities
Install, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and components
Administer and manage Windows and Linux systems in the operations, engineering, analysis, and test environments
Administer installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device management
Resolve a wide variety of complex system failures, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problems
Perform system and user account maintenance
Test and assess security configuration of Windows servers
Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
Analyze, test, and implement security patches and hardening
Document maintenance & ticketing actions
Develop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
If required, assist in IT security incident response and documentation
Required Skills:
Experience in Windows systems administration
Understanding of multiplatform system hardening (e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP)
Strong understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environments
Experience with scripting for task automation (e.g., Power Shell, Batch, BASH)
Proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trends (e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk)
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
Experience with system monitoring & alerting tools (e.g., Nagios)
Experience working within an accredited system
Ability to work independently
A current Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required
Minimum 7 year of experience in a related role is preferred
Experience in multiplatform systems administration (Windows and Linux) is desired
Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 configuration, management, and troubleshooting is preferred
Understanding of Group Policy management is preferred
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8,
9) is preferred
Some experience with SAN management (e.g., Net App, Dell Unity, HPE Green Lake) is preferred
Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (i.e., Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops) is preferred
Exchange Server 2019 configuration, management, and troubleshooting is preferred
Experience with systems management and automation software e.g., (Endpoint Configuration Manager, Satellite, Ansible, Systems Center Orchestrator) is preferred
Experience In Multiplatform Environments (Windows And Linux) Is Preferred
Experience with High Performance Computing is preferred
Required
Education:
High School diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience in a System Administration role or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Special Requirements :
This position is 100% on-site. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, and in some cases, with little to no advance notice. This job will also require up to 10% travel.
This position requires that the applicant selected be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance. The applicant must also successfully complete a polygraph.
This position requires that the applicant obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire.
