Essential Duties Supervision- Offer leadership and direction to those workers assigned to you.
- Supervise staff whom the site and facilities superintendent may assign to you, both summer and winter. This includes full and part-time camping staff, maintenance summer staff, work crew, volunteers, and others assisting with maintenance or projects.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward staff and others, conveying maximum service within the property's capabilities.
- Work closely with the work crew and summer staff bosses to ensure a positive work experience and personal growth for volunteers.
- Maintain operating records as required by the site and facilities superintendent.
- Possess basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Maintain and operate designated equipment or areas as assigned.
- Operate and maintain camp property following instructions from superiors.
- Implement individual camping goals as outlined annually.
- Work closely with the site and facilities superintendent, guest services coordinator, and staff on property use.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation.
- Represent Young Life positively in the local community and work with volunteers and young attendees.
- Be capable of standing or walking most of the day.
- Adapt to indoor and outdoor environments.
- Work on projects overhead, bending, kneeling, crawling in attics, crawl spaces, etc.
- Perform digging, shoveling, and raking tasks.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to obtain certifications.
- Ability to organize and supervise tasks and people.
- Knowledge of plant systems and construction trades.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Physical ability to perform work.
- Ability to convey Christ-like hospitality and respond professionally to guest needs.
This position is based at Malibu Landing, Egmont, BC, a seasonal tourist community. Responsibilities include managing facilities, mechanical duties, carpentry, landscaping, shipping/receiving, forklift operation, and seasonal duties like managing vehicle traffic and boat maintenance. Salary ranges from $35,000 to $43,000 USD. Limited onsite housing is available, with other options in Egmont or nearby.
