• Plan and prepare lessons aligned with instructional standards that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Collaborate with other teachers in professional learning communities.
• Assess academic and social growth of students, maintain appropriate and current records, and provide progress reports as required.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Create a positive and inclusive educational climate for students that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
• Establish classroom behavior expectations and procedures, and encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Effectively implement district initiatives by following expectations given from administration both verbally and written.
• Participate in the approved evaluation process, and obtain required professional development training.
• Refer students for alternative services as provided by the district (ESL, Special Education, G/T, and Dyslexia).
• Serve as a role model to students by following ethical and legal behavior.
• Follow the code of ethics for educators, including all HIPPA and FERPA laws and guidelines protecting student information.
