K.D. Markley Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Long‑Term Substitute School Counselor for the first semester of the 2026‑27 school year. This role provides academic guidance and personal/social counseling to elementary students, collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to promote student success and well‑being.
Responsibilities- Academic Support
- Monitor academic progress and intervene when students are at risk
- Collaborate with teachers to support student learning and achievement
- Personal/Social Development
- Provide individual and group counseling for personal, emotional, and social issues
- Address bullying, peer conflict, and mental health concerns
- Refer students and families to outside support services when needed
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed
- Support school‑wide initiatives related to attendance, behavior, and wellness
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
- Valid Pennsylvania School Counselor certification
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
