Great Valley High School
Great Valley School District is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers, at Great Valley 5/6 Center and Great Valley High School, to support students with Multiple Disabilities and/or Autism in developing communication, social, academic, vocational, and daily living skills. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the teacher will implement district-approved curriculum, develop and monitor IEPs, and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Conduct assessments, testing, and diagnostic evaluations to identify learning needs and recommend corrective instructional strategies.
- Participate in the evaluation of student needs and assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students' academic, social, vocational, behavioral, and functional needs.
- Design and deliver instruction in functional academics, communication, self-care, community-based instruction, and work-related skills.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and data-driven instructional strategies aligned with Autism Support programming.
- Collect, analyze, and document student performance data to guide instruction and measure progress toward IEP goals.
- Coordinate and collaborate with administrators, related service providers, support staff, families, and outside agencies to support student success.
- Encourage and facilitate meaningful parent/guardian involvement and maintain effective communication regarding student progress.
- Prepare students for post-secondary outcomes, including employment, independent living, and community participation.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that supports student growth and independence.
- Valid PA Special Education PK–12 or Special Education N–12 certification
- Knowledge of special education best practices, instructional strategies, and assessment methods
- Experience with language, behavioral, and functional assessments and curriculum
- Ability to use data systems and progress monitoring to guide instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team
