Location: 15 Great Valley Parkway, Malvern, PA 19355, United States
Required Degree: 4 Year Degree
This position is in our technical center in Malvern, PA. Our site researches, designs, and manufactures temperature and flow sensors. We are looking for a degreed engineer with a manufacturing, mechanical, materials, or similar technical background who is interested in becoming a subject matter expert in the joining technologies at our production facility. We currently use various forms of automated welding including laser, TIG, resistance, and ultrasonic welding for metals and plastic.
You will become the “go-to” person for these technologies as you develop these processes for new products. We will leverage our existing experience and our international footprint to train you. You may decide to develop in this role for many years or, after mastering this technology, train someone else and move on to other roles within the company. - Become the subject matter expert in all joining technologies at the plant.
- As the subject matter expert, you will be a vital member of cross‑functional teams (Design, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product - from initial design through prototype development and into full production.
- Solve interesting and unique challenges as we launch state‑of‑the‑art new products and eliminate issues with current production.
- Partner with Industrial Engineering to develop new fixtures and tooling required for joining processes.
- Stay up to date with customer and industry trends in order to deliver new joining technology and offer continuous improvement.
- Strive to ensure benchmark First Pass Yield (FPY) and equipment availability (uptime) for all joining equipment.
- Create and maintain all testing requirements for joint quality verification.
- Serve as a safety leader to ensure new processes, procedures, and equipment have the highest level of safety controls.
- BS in a related engineering field.
- Metallurgy and/or laser processing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of CNC programming, such as G‑code, is a plus.
- Knowledge of 3D design tools, such as Solid Works, is preferred.
- Self‑disciplined and self‑driven with a proven record of driving projects to completion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of our organization.
- Attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willing to travel 1–2 times per year to interact with international colleagues and vendors and to attend trade shows and training.
