SPM Malvern is seeking an experienced Engineering Maintenance Planner to support the smooth and safe operation of our Awarua plant. This is a key role within the Engineering Department, responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering all maintenance and engineering activities in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager, Trades 2IC, plant trades teams, and external contractors, you will play a critical role in ensuring maintenance work is well planned, resources are available, and compliance and safety standards are consistently met.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintenance planning across engineering, electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration functions. You will manage the CMMS (MEX), coordinate contractors, oversee inventories, raise and reconcile purchase orders and invoices, and support both day‑to‑day maintenance and planned shutdowns.
Responsibilities- Plan and schedule all repairs and maintenance (R&M) activities, ensuring parts and resources are available
- Oversee and manage the CMMS (MEX), including job creation, registers, and reporting
- Coordinate external contractors, including compliance documentation and insurance details
- Raise and manage all purchase orders for the engineering department
- Reconcile invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders
- Monitor and manage engineering inventory and stock levels
- Support weekend, shutdown, and preventative maintenance planning
- Maintain compliance and engineering registers
- Provide regular updates and briefings to the Engineering Manager and key stakeholders
- Support engineering projects and general engineering/trades administration
- Provide leadership, coordination, and support to trades teams as required
- A minimum Level 4 engineering or related qualification
- 3+ years’ experience in maintenance planning or a similar engineering role
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills
- A solid understanding of engineering principles and maintenance workflows
- Experience or confidence in health and safety risk assessment and compliance
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships
