SPM Malvern - located just outside of Christchurch – is currently seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented and highly organised HR Administrator to join the team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will work with our HR Coordinator at site, Head Office HR and plant management team to provide best practice advice and support in areas such as recruitment, induction, training and employee relations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in HR or related discipline and will be seeking the opportunity to take the next step in their career. Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business and within the local community is essential. Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous. Each day is varied, however tasks required for the role include:
- End to end recruitment process, including inducting new staff,
- Ensuring required employment documentation is completed and maintained in the HR system,
- Training and Development initiatives are rolled out,
- Coaching & Mentoring supervisors and managers to navigate Employment Relations on site,
- Communicating with Head Office HR to ensure people management on‑site is effective and in‑line with the company strategy.
The successful candidate will have the following knowledge and skills:
- Tertiary qualification in HR or related field, or
- Relevant experience in the HR/Recruitment space.
- Strong attention to detail and administrative skills.
- Some understanding of employment‑related legislation and employment relations best practice.
- Being Health & Safety centric and ensuring compliance at all times.
- Strong relationship building, influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload through good time management and organisation skills.
