Position: Lead Data Analyst (Mobile)

Mobile Analytics is launching innovative initiatives to drive long-term growth and client value, such as AI-powered analytics to enhance client experience, estimating mobile’s impact on Personal Investor net growth, and promoting evidence-based decision making through advanced analytics and experimentation.

The candidate will act as a thought leader, using advanced analytics and experiments to shape the product roadmap and digital strategy. Key responsibilities include mentoring junior analysts, identifying core business questions, selecting appropriate analytics methods, and clearly communicating results and product value to stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities
  • Engages with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions and goals. Brings structure to business requests, translates requirements into an analytical project approach, and leads complex projects through completion. Delegates tasks and provides tactical and strategic guidance to peers. Serves as the analytics expert on cross‑functional teams for large strategic initiatives.
  • Acquires and compiles structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Performs analyses of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods. Validates analytical techniques employed by other analysts.
  • Prepares and delivers expert level visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement.
  • Develops, owns and manages recurring analytic or reporting processes.
  • Actively develops the analytics community at Vanguard by mentoring, coaching and connecting others with resources and training. Participates and presents during scheduled analytics seminars.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years related work experience within analytics
  • Experience using Python and SQL (Advanced)
  • Experience using visualization tools (Tableau)
  • Experience with experimentation and casual inference methods
  • Experience creating decks and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Experience working under tight deadlines and meeting expectations
Preferences
  • Independently identifying opportunities, and developing quasi-experimental analyses to drive high-value product outcomes
  • Independently identifying opportunities, and developing advanced experimentation design and analyses for product optimization
  • Independently building / leading projects involving advanced analytics (E.g. Machine Learning) to drive quantifiable business outcomes
  • Deep understanding of, and some experience applying Behavioral Economics research to business use cases
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
