This role involves leading a customer-centric team at a single H&R Block tax office, driving seasonal tax business, and delivering an outstanding client experience.
Responsibilities- Lead a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
- Serve as front-line manager to provide leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office-related growth objectives.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates; lead daily activities and ensure work is completed on time with quality standards and goals.
- Lead daily team meetings, communicate essential information, create work schedules, and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
- Recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions in collaboration with senior leadership where applicable.
- Prepare tax returns when required and resolve client service concerns, including scheduling conflicts.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and address associate issues in partnership with appropriate teams.
- Partnership with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office roles.
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to train and coach associates to meet Service Standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
- Experience in customer service, shift lead, or similar roles; experience supervising or managing people.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course where applicable.
- Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office) and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated resilience, a customer-centric mindset, and the ability to work flexible hours as required.
