Guitar​/Ukulele Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Guitar/Ukulele Teacher to provide high-quality private and small-group lessons in our retail store. You'll assess student skill levels, create personalized lesson plans, and teach technique, music reading, chords, and repertoire in a fun, student-focused environment. Collaborate with store staff and parents, prepare students for recitals, and maintain accurate schedules and progress notes. This role blends teaching and customer service while supporting our mission of expanding access to music education in the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small-group guitar and ukulele lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Assess student abilities and develop individualized lesson plans and learning goals
• Teach technique, music reading, chords, rhythm, and repertoire appropriate to student level
• Prepare students for recitals, performances, and school-related music activities
• Communicate progress and practice expectations to parents and students
• Maintain accurate schedules, attendance records, and lesson notes
• Collaborate with store staff to support lesson enrollment and student retention
• Uphold a safe, inclusive, student-focused learning environment in the studio
