Physical Therapist - Outpatient – UHC Staffing Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Mammoth Lakes, CA

Start Date: 06-01-2026

End Date: 08-31-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Day shifts:
Weekdays and Saturday daytime coverage; occasional holiday and Sunday inpatient coverage (approximately 6-8 Sundays/year). 1:1 patient appointments with 45-minute appointments each hour. (Specific start/end times not provided)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients referred for physical therapy and perform appropriate tests and measurements
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and set meaningful goals
  • Administer physical therapy interventions and modalities appropriate to each diagnosis
  • Provide 1:1 patient care with 45-minute sessions each hour to maximize progress
  • Reassess and revise treatment plans at least every six weeks or sooner based on patient progress
  • Document patient progress timely and accurately to support physician follow-ups and utilization review
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary departments to coordinate comprehensive care
  • Share inpatient coverage responsibilities, including holidays and occasional Sundays
Qualifications
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of California (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (required)
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required)
  • Minimum of one year of PT experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with patients, peers, and physicians
  • Comfortable working in both outpatient and inpatient settings
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (entry-level PT degree as required by state licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Patient evaluation and assessment
  • Treatment planning and goal setting
  • Administration of physical therapy treatments and modalities
  • Thorough and timely clinical documentation
  • Experience across inpatient and outpatient care environments
  • Ability to motivate patients and observe progress closely
  • Team collaboration and effective communication with medical staff
