Registered Nurse - Med​/Surg; per diem

Location & Position

Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546. Per Diem, varied shift.

Salary Range: $55.68 – $79.30 hourly. Night shift differential: $11.00 per hour.

• Carefully assess and monitor the physical status of the patient. Collect and record necessary data through patient interviews, observation, review of records, diagnostic results, physician documentation and consultation with physicians and others. Utilize this information appropriately in planning and delivering patient care.
• Aware of patient treatment needs in order to correlate physicians' orders to diagnosis.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medication actions, contraindications, and side effects before administering medications.
• Knowledgeable of laboratory work-up and values related to diagnosis.
• Perform ongoing, careful assessment of patient teaching needs; provide necessary teaching in an organized manner per hospital policy; evaluate further needs and document teaching and patient response.
• Effectively admit, transfer, and discharge patients.
• Consistently present accurate and concise shift reports.
• Evaluate nursing interventions in relation to established expected outcomes (goals).

• State of California Registered Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Critical Care Certification or Critical Care RN (CCRN) required or begin within 90 days of hire.
• One year of inpatient nursing experience required.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and ancillary departments.

• Per diem, varied, 12‑hour shifts.
• Starting wage $55.68 to $67.49 based on qualifications.
• $11.00 per hour night shift differential.
• Weekend and/or holiday rotation may be required.
• On‑call shifts may be required.
