RN - ER

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse initiates a plan of care based on identified medical and nursing diagnoses. This role requires knowledgeable assessment of patient treatment needs and the ability to correlate physician orders to diagnoses. The nurse will document patient care, provide direct nursing care, and effectively communicate with other departments and shifts to ensure continuity of care.

• Assess and monitor the physical status of patients.
• Document patient care on clinical records accurately and concisely at least every two hours.
• Anticipate potential problems and adapt to unit changes.
• Consistently follow established safety and infection control procedures.
• Coordinate with ancillary personnel to maintain a safe environment.

Expected to work night shifts with possible varied day and night shifts based on department needs.

• State of California Registered Nurse license.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NRP certification preferred.
• Minimum of four years of Emergency Room Nurse experience required.

This is a 13-week contract position.
