Main Accountabilities
- Maintenance and Repair
- Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure equipment / system is in optimal condition.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy machinery.
- Conduct quality checks post-repair to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
- Equipment Inspections
- Conduct regular inspections on heavy equipment to detect wear, damage, or other issues.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment conditions and report any significant findings.
- Recommend necessary repairs or replacement of parts based on inspection outcomes either for direct action or backlog.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Perform pre-start inspection prior conduct an activity (e.g., light vehicle, tools, machine, facility, etc.), completion of SHEQ documents during maintenance practice (Procedure, Safe Check, JHA, etc.), manage documents archive as evidence and register in database.
- Keep thorough records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts replacements.
- Document all diagnostic findings and submit accurate reports to supervisors.
- Update maintenance logs and track equipment usage for accurate service scheduling.
- Complete the time sheet and leave (annual leave, field break, sick leave, etc.) in Absence Database system before processing Payroll.
- Inventory and Parts Management
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of spare parts and tools needed for maintenance and repair work.
- Coordinate with the inventory team to order necessary parts and avoid downtime.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of tools and parts to maintain their functionality.
- Technical Support and Training
- Provide technical support and guidance to equipment operators regarding proper usage and basic troubleshooting.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new repair techniques and equipment technology.
- Share best practices with team members to improve efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Educational Background & Experience
- Diploma / SMK Majoring in Electrical (Low Voltage), electronics or mechanical background or have experience at relevant field service.
- Strong understanding of RCT products and their applications.
- Proven track record in installation, servicing and field repair duties.
- Automation & Control Systems
- Understand how industrial automation systems work, including PLCs, HMI, SCADA, sensors, actuators, and control logic used on heavy equipment and plant systems.
- Electrical & Instrumentation Systems
- Know how low-voltage electrical systems, motor control circuits, drives, and industrial instrumentation function, and how to troubleshoot and repair them.
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
- Know how to use electrical and automation diagnostic tools to find and fix faults, and how to read electrical schematics, control drawings, I/O lists, and automation manuals.
- Safety Standards
- Understand electrical and automation safety rules and know how to work safely on automated systems in a mining environment, including isolation, testing, and verification.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Know how to inspect, test, and maintain automation and electrical systems to ensure system reliability and prevent unplanned downtime.
- Repair & Configuration Skills
- Able to repair electrical and automation components and perform approved configuration, parameter, or component replacement tasks on control systems.
- Advanced Diagnostic Skills
- Skilled in identifying root causes of automation and electrical faults using testing instruments, software diagnostics, and logical fault-finding methods.
- System Operation Knowledge
- Know how automated equipment and control systems operate well enough to safely test, validate, and return systems to service after maintenance or repair.
- Record-Keeping & Documentation
- Able to maintain detailed records of electrical and automation work, including fault findings, parts used, configuration changes, and maintenance history.
- Attention to Detail
- Careful and precise when working on automation and electrical systems, recognizing that small errors can lead to system or safety failures.
- Time Management
- Able to prioritize automation and electrical tasks efficiently to minimize equipment downtime and production impact.
- Computer Skills
- Competent in using computers and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) for reporting, documentation, and basic data handling.
- Communication Skills
- Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa and English, both written and verbal, including explaining technical issues clearly to operators and supervisors.
- Driving Capability
- Able to drive a light vehicle (car) and holds a valid driving license.
- Service Level
- Service Level 2 (SL2) – Automation / Electrical Specialist.
