Scope and General Purpose of Job:
To be responsible for the whole performance of the spa and recreation including spa performance, revenue target, image and position in the industry, guest satisfaction and relationship with all contacts.
Being a contact center, coordinator of the spa & recreations and other parties/ authorities concerned. The Spa Manager also oversees the gym and other recreational activities.
The Job incumbent works in line with the hotels guidelines and business plan, and Wyndham Corporate policies and procedures, and according to local requirements and regulations.
Main tasksOperational:
- To ensure a high standard of service deliver from the staff to spa & recreations guests & visitors according to company policy and standard of procedure.
- To ensure all guest inquiries, comments and complaints are handled immediately and in effective manner under our company policy and procedure.
- To act immediately for maintenance in liaison with Engineering.
- To analyze guest satisfaction level and able summarize satisfaction levels for future improvement.
- To keep the whole spa appearance and atmosphere according to the set concept
- To ensure the whole spa & recreations media and stationery that are communicated with the guests are produced according to the standard graphic manual.
- To attend regular meetings with the hotel management and per request and submit minutes of meeting on file at the spa & recreations.
- To monitor and routinely review spa & recreations Standard of Procedure.
- To be aware of potential competitor in the future and keep track of existing competitor both local and regional.
- To be alert of new spa & recreations trends or new treatment.
- To propose annual budget and cost (P&L) of the spa and able to conduct the operation according to the approved P&L plan.
- To control inventory and cost according to the budget
- To enforce revenue generation to meet each month target.
- To be able to control costing according to budget plan.
- To be able to forecast monthly income projection of the spa & recreations.
- To keep track of ROI of each advertisement and promotion activities with effective statistics.
- To monitor Goodwill program and telemarketing program.
- To monitor in-house advertisement and promotion activities.
- To co-operate with other outlets in the hotel to create co-promotion or activities routinely.
- To join sales calls if required to.
- To be aware of VIP visitors to the spa and prepare special arrangements.
- To control discounts, complimentary, wholesale (agent price) use in the spa & recreations.
- To train and supervise all staff levels to gain products and services knowledge and be able to give correct information to guests.
- Propose suitable incentive scheme for therapists, if applicable.
- To monitor operations at the gym and ensure that pool attendants are on duty.
Laws, Regulations & Policies:
- Ensure compliance with business operations laws
- Ensure compliance with hospitality operations laws
- Supervise closely all applicable rules of safety in the workplace as well as all statutory laws of the country and local municipality laws.
Human Resource Management:
- Screens, interviews ad recommends potential staff for the department
- Develops and recommends appropriate training to meet guest and internal needs
- Checks that own staff meets and exceeds expectations by training and encouraging staff to serve with passion
- Identifies training needs and ensures that quality standards are met by all staff
- Makes sure staff receives skills training to provide consistent, reliable service
- Encourages, develops and manages effective employee relations throughout the hotel
- Identifies employees with potential for promotion and/or transfer and makes appropriate development plans for him or her together with the Director of Human Resources
- Works closely with the Director of Human Resources on the following Human Resources related tasks:
- Performance appraisal
- Coaching
- Counseling
- Discipline and grievance
- Employee relations
- Wage and salary administration
- Compensation and benefits
- Succession planning
