Job Description – Commercial Executive Role Overview

The Commercial Executive is responsible for supporting the Group's commercial activities through the preparation of proposals, pricing models, commercial analyses, and contract documentation. The role assists in developing competitive commercial solutions, evaluating business opportunities, and ensuring proposals are aligned with client requirements and organizational objectives.

The position works closely with Commercial, Operations, Finance, and other business functions to support business development initiatives, proposal submissions, and revenue growth activities.

Key Responsibilities 1. Proposal Development & Tender Support
  • Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions in accordance with client requirements.
  • Coordinate with operational and technical teams to gather information required for proposal preparation.
  • Ensure proposals are complete, accurate, and submitted within established timelines.
  • Maintain proposal templates, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the review and approval process for commercial submissions.
2. Pricing & Commercial Analysis
  • Assist in the development of pricing structures and commercial models for new and existing services.
  • Conduct cost analysis and profitability assessments to support pricing decisions.
  • Prepare financial summaries and commercial evaluations for business opportunities.
  • Monitor market pricing trends and competitor activities.
  • Support management in identifying opportunities to improve profitability and revenue generation.
3. Commercial Structuring & Contract Support
  • Assist in developing commercial structures for service offerings and client engagements.
  • Support contract preparation, review, and administration activities.
  • Ensure commercial terms and conditions are accurately reflected in proposals and agreements.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Legal teams on commercial documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain records of contracts, proposals, and commercial agreements.
4. Business Development Support
  • Support the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis as required.
  • Assist in preparing business cases, presentations, and commercial reports.
  • Participate in client meetings and commercial discussions when required.
  • Support relationship-building activities with clients and business partners.
5. Data Management & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of proposals, pricing schedules, and commercial activities.
  • Track proposal status, contract renewals, and business development opportunities.
  • Prepare periodic reports on proposal success rates, revenue opportunities, and commercial performance.
  • Develop dashboards and management reports to support decision-making.
  • Ensure commercial information is properly documented and archived.
6. Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Support the continuous improvement of commercial processes and proposal management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and approval authorities.
  • Assist in developing standardized commercial documentation and templates.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in commercial operations.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Commercial Management, Business Development, Contract Management, Sales, or Project Management are advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business reporting tools is preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial operations, proposal preparation, business development, pricing, sales support, or related functions.
  • Experience in tender preparation, contract administration, commercial analysis, or bid management is preferred.
  • Exposure to pricing models, cost analysis, and profitability assessments is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast‑paced business environment.
