We are currently seeking a contract Librarian to join our team in Manama. As a contract Librarian, you will work on a short-term basis with our library, providing essential services to our patrons. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about books and information management, and is looking for a temporary role in the library field.
Responsibilities- Assist patrons with locating and checking out materials
- Answer reference questions and provide information on library resources
- Organize and maintain library collections, including shelving books and other materials
- Catalog new materials using the Dewey Decimal System or other classification methods
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop displays and promote library services
- Maintain accurate records of library circulation, usage, and inventory
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Proficient knowledge of cataloging systems, such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Passion for books, reading, and promoting literacy
This is a contract position with a salary of $1700 per month.
LocationThis position is located in Manama, the capital city of Bahrain. It offers a vibrant mix of modern amenities, cultural attractions, and historical sites.
